Test Results For Magnetic Field Shielding Effectiveness
Circular coils carrying pulse currents of about 5000 amperes peak were used to generate a time varying magnetic field, creating at the center of the test fixture a calculated field intensity of about 900 amperes.
The waveshape and amplitude were representative of that produced by a 50,000 ampere lightning flash 30 feet from the center of the test shelter.

This test data implies an overall magnetic field shielding effectiveness of 60dB.

The transmitting antenna was placed inside the
shelter with the receiver antenna located outside. The RF energy was then supplied to the
internal antenna while transmitting at the receiver antenna located outside.

The test data produced a shielding effectiveness rating of 80 dB or higher from 20 MHz to 1 GHz
